Living in the End: The Secret to Manifesting [Neville Goddard]
Are you tired of always looking towards the future, chasing after your dreams and desires? Do you feel like no matter how much you try, you can’t seem to make them a reality? It’s time to break free from this cycle and start living in the end.
Picture this: you have already achieved your goals and are living your desired reality. You see the world through the eyes of someone who has already created the life they wanted. You are already living your wildest dreams. This perspective shift can be life-changing. But how exactly do you make this shift? How do you start changing your life and bringing your desires to life?
The concept called living in the end is a powerful manifestation process that can help you create the life you want by aligning your thoughts and feelings with the outcome you desire. The key to getting what you want begins with understanding that the true source of power lies within you.
In this article:
What Does Living in the End Truly Mean
“Living in the end” is not just about visualizing your desired outcome but also feeling the emotions and sensations of already having achieved it.
It means assuming the state of having already accomplished your desire in order to bring it into reality. It is based on the idea that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors shape our reality, and by aligning them with our desired outcome, we can manifest it into reality.
Let me explain:
When you are “living in the end,” you are internally experiencing your desired outcome as if it has already happened, and you are thinking and feeling as if it has already come to pass. This creates a powerful connection between your imagination and reality and helps you manifest your desires.
The idea is to focus on the desired result as if it’s already happened and as if it’s real. This shifts your focus from the current reality to the desired reality. And then, your mind starts to work towards the desired outcome. In theory, you can use it to get literally anything you want.
This concept was an important part of Neville Goddard’s teachings. For those who are still not familiar with his work, Neville Goddard was the teacher of the law of assumption (not the same thing as the law of attraction), a principle that states that the mind can be used to create the reality we desire.

Living in the End: The State of the Wish Fulfilled
Let’s first shortly clarify these terms:
“The state of the wish fulfilled” is an expression almost identical to “living in the end.” Both terms were put forward by Neville Goddard, and they both refer to the idea of assuming the feeling of having already achieved your desired outcome in order to bring it into reality.
The one slight difference is that “living in the end” implies a longer duration. In other words, you can frequently come in and out from the state of the wish fulfilled, while “living in the end” implies some continuity. But for all intents and purposes, we can consider them identical.
They’re usually used interchangeably, which is precisely how I’ll use them here to avoid further confusion.
Now when that’s out of the way, let’s move on:
Feeling like you already have something you want is the secret to making your desires come true. It might sound weird at first, but trust me, it’s an essential part of the manifestation process.
The real magic of manifestation happens when you feel like you already have what you want.
The more you can immerse yourself in that inner state of already having your desire, the more real it becomes to your subconscious mind, and the more likely it is to manifest in reality.
It may take some practice, but with persistence and an open mind, you’ll be able to master this process and manifest anything you want.
Always remember – focus on the feeling of having your desire, not on the lack or the need for it.
How to Use the End State to Manifest Your Desires
Here’s an example of how this works:
Think about a time when you wanted something really, really bad, and then, when you finally got it, more of it came to you without even trying.
Like, maybe you were single for months and couldn’t seem to meet anyone. But then, the day after you met someone you really wanted, you stopped thinking about it. Suddenly, a bunch of other people started showing interest in you. Everywhere you went, someone was hitting on you.
This happens because when you focus on the feeling of already having what you want, your physical world reflects it back to you.
In other words:
Your external reality is nothing more than a reflection of your inner world.
Creation is finished because it is always a reflection of our thoughts and beliefs. We have the power to change what we experience in the world by changing our inner state – what we think and feel.
Living in the state of your fulfilled desire involves aligning one’s thoughts and feelings with the desired outcome as if it has already been achieved.
When you hold a particular inner state consistently and firmly enough, it eventually “hardens into fact.” It becomes a solid and tangible reality. In other words, that inner state transforms into a real-life experience.
This can be done through practicing visualization, scripting, affirming, gratitude, meditation, and other techniques. I’ll explain some of them here.
Visualization Technique
This living in the end technique is based on Neville Goddard’s teachings. So the first thing we do is go to the end result.
Let’s start with the example:
If you want to be loved by a specific person, picture yourself in a scenario where they already love you. This is the end state, the state of your desire fulfilled. Then, from that state, you describe how you feel.
It is important to clarify that you don’t guess what it would be like. First, you imagine the scene and then describe the feeling. You already know how it would feel like to have your desire now.
Use your imagination to impress your consciousness with the desired outcome. This is how you design your reality.
Here are 5 essential steps that should be used to implement the concept of the end state:
1. Clearly define your desired outcome: Be specific about what you want to achieve, whether it‘s a new job, a romantic relationship, or a change in your financial situation.
2. Get into a deeply relaxed state: Close your eyes and breathe deeply. This will help to calm down your rational thinking mind and impress your subconscious with your desire.
3. Visualize the desired outcome: Imagine your desire as if it has already happened: Imagine yourself already experiencing the outcome you desire. Use all your senses to make your experience as vivid as possible.
4. Assume the feeling of the desired outcome: As you visualize the desired outcome, focus on the feeling of having already achieved it. How would you feel if you had your desire? Let that feeling awaken within you. This is the key to “living in the end,” as it is the feeling that brings the desired outcome into reality.
5. Repeat regularly: Repeat this process as often as possible, ideally every day. The more you do it, the more powerful it becomes.
How to Affirm
Another good way of practicing being in the state of your desired outcome is affirming it.
It’s especially good for those who have trouble visualizing.
You can affirm your desired outcomes by following these 5 tips:
1. Use the present tense: Affirmations work best when they are written in the present tense as if the desired result has already happened. For instance, instead of saying: “I will have more money,” say: “I am financially abundant.” This is particularly important when you want to embody the end state.
2. Be specific and clear: Be specific about what you want to manifest and use clear language. This will help your subconscious mind understand exactly what you want to manifest.
3. Repeat regularly: Repeat your affirmations as often as possible, ideally every day. You can say them out loud or silently to yourself or even write them down.
4. Use emotional power: As you repeat, feel the emotions that would come along with achieving your desire. This will help to align your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with the desired outcome.
5. Use affirmations in conjunction with other methods: For the best results, combine different methods together.
My Experience
For me, when it comes to embodying the end state, It’s not about feeling overwhelmingly happy or any intense emotions for that matter. It’s about feeling that sense of certainty that it’s mine. It is a deep inner conviction that what I want is already mine.
This feeling of certainty is the essence of my successful manifestations. It means that I am no longer experiencing a lack or absence of my desire, and I’m not waiting for it to happen. I know it’s happening. It’s a state of knowing, if you will.
Once you’re able to fully enter this state, you’ll feel like there’s nothing else you need to do to get your desire because it’s already yours.
You’ll have a sense of fulfillment and achievement and no longer feel a lack or absence of your desire. With practice, you’ll learn how to enter this end state easily, and it will just feel like – “Yes! That’s it. It’s mine“.
How Do You Know That You’re Living in the End Correctly?
One way to know that you’re in the end state correctly is when you stop wondering about when your desire will come. If you’re constantly thinking about when it’s going to happen, you’re not fully in the end result state.
It’s one thing to think about your desired outcome and another to think from it!
Those are two different states of consciousness.
When you’re living in the end, you don’t have to wait for the manifestation to happen. You assume it’s already happened and feel the feelings that come with it. Your focus is on enjoying the feeling of already having it and not on the “when or how” it will happen. You embody the feeling of the end result. There are no “ifs” and “buts,” no dwelling on it.
So, if you’re not thinking “when it’s going to come,” you’re on the right track.
If you’re thinking about things like: “When it will be here?“, “Am I doing something wrong?” or: “Why it’s not here yet?” – that implies that you’re still in a state of lack.
When to Use Middle Steps
Look, I get it. Sometimes can be hard to get into the end state. If that’s the case with you, start with something less challenging first.
Let’s say that you’ve been single for a long time and want to experience a loving relationship. If picturing yourself in such a relationship evokes nothing but feelings of resistance in you, start with something more believable.
Start by seeing the world as a place where love is abundant and accessible to you. And then familiarize yourself with that feeling. That can be your middle step toward the relationship you desire. When you get used to that feeling (as if the love is abundant and accessible to you), then move to the next step.
You can use the same process for any desire.
Middle steps for wealth:
For instance, let’s say that you want to be a millionaire, but the thought of actually having millions seems impossible to grasp. That’s okay! A good middle step would be to focus on a smaller, more achievable amount of money, like 200k (pick your currency).
The key is to make it believable to your subconscious. If you struggle to picture yourself as a millionaire and feel resistance when thinking about it, breaking it down into smaller steps can help. The idea is to make it tangible for your mind to accept as truth.
Middle steps for a specific person:
Suppose you want to get back with your ex or a committed relationship with your sp (specific person). But, for some reason, that seems impossible to you right now. So, what would be a step forward and, at the same time, still in a realm of believability for you?
Perhaps that would be a date, a phone call, or a text. So start with that as a short-term goal.
Having middle steps is better than forcing yourself and trying to feel a certain way. However, use them with caution. It’s a thin line between making middle steps and messing with the middle.
When you’re messing with the middle, you are unconsciously trying to control what’s happening.
Do You Need to Live in the State of Your Desire Fulfilled All the Time?
No, you don’t. It’s not necessary or even possible to keep living in any state all the time. It’s perfectly fine if the end state is fleeting. The key is to be there most of the time, not to be obsessed with it.
If you find yourself out of it, you can use your preferred method to get back into it. You can visualize, affirm, or script a story or whatever works for you.
The point is to use techniques that help you embrace that state. The ultimate goal here is to be able to get back into the end state effortlessly and automatically. That’s why we regularly practice getting into the end state.
It may take some practice to get there, but with regular practice, it gets easier and more accessible. That is how you’ll learn to naturally persist in it.
